The Mission of the Choir and Cantors is to help the congregation to sing with praise! Through song, the Choir helps everyone Pray and Proclaim the liturgy. The choir, cantors, and musicians must be able to perform in front of large groups of people.
The Mission of the Servers and Sacristans ensure that the liturgy is well supported so that the celebrant of the Mass can perform in a reverent and respectful manner. Servers are very visible support during the Mass and generally serve at one weekend Mass, while Sacristans serve multiple Masses behind the scenes. Both programs offer mentorship and training/discipline for those under 16 years old.

The Mission of the Extraordinary Ministers (EM) is to assist the Priest/Pastor with providing Holy Communion and the Sacred Blood to our parishioners. By operating as an acolyte, they faithfully administer the Body and Blood of Jesus. An EM might also administer at University of Maryland Rehabilitation & Orthopedic Institute, formerly known as Kernan.
The Mission of the Lectors is to proclaim the Word of God through Scripture Readings at Mass, in a way that brings the Word alive and stirs the heart of those listening.

The Liturgy Committee chair manages the day-to-day functions of the following committees: Choirs and Cantors, Environment, Extraordinary Ministers, Greeters, Lector, Servers and Sacristans, and Ushers to ensure each liturgy is the best possible worship experience. Throughout the Mass, the goal is to inspire, empower, and lead people to full participation, active faithful worship, and to take that action into the week so that all people “will know we are Christians”.
The Mission of the Environmental team is to enhance the worship space during the liturgical seasons: Lent, Triduum, Easter, Christmas, Pentecost, Ordinary Time, and other events. By facilitating visual art and objects in decorating the worship space, it promotes an atmosphere of warmth, fellowship, and holy prayer.
