The Green Team participates in activities connecting our faith to the care for the environment. Volunteers have participated in planting trees, installing rain gardens and cisterns to collect water from the roof of the school. Volunteers are needed to help maintain the gardens and continue outreach to the community to spread the word about the environment.
The Knights of Columbus is a brotherhood of 2 million Catholic men around the world that was founded on the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. Our goal is to help men, their families, and their parishes grow closer to Christ. Through our programs and resources, we provide opportunities to live and spread the Catholic faith, empowering Catholic men to live their faith at home, in their parish, at work, and in their communities.
The Knights contribute to many worthy Christian causes such as providing children the gift of warmth, advocating for a culture of life, giving persecuted religious minorities food and medical care, or helping rebuild after natural disasters, and more. Donations go directly to those we serve through our charitable programs.
The Social Action Committee exists to serve the needy in our community and throughout the world by performing charitable acts of direct service. Additionally, it provides guidance and direction to the members of St. Gabriel Parish and encourages and empowers them to advocate for the poor and to seek just for all. Understanding and adhering to the major themes of Catholic Social Teaching help us to carry out these tasks.
